Heat wave beach trip with friends

My dear friend Mary made the questionable decision to sign her oldest daughter up for a theater camp in San Francisco.  It's great to encourage your kid's passion but that's a long haul from where we live.  I took her other two kids today and since there is a heat wave in our area, we headed to the beach.

Here's Leo, Sofia, Millie and Serafina ready to head to the sand with all our stuff.
It wasn't too crowded (we found parking no problem) and it was almost 20 degrees cooler.  It was perfect beach weather.
And the kids found their own private cove.

And then we saw a rainbow cloud as we drove away and Sofia declared it a Pride cloud.
Of course there is no leaving Santa Cruz without a stop at Marianne's for ice cream.  I was the fun mom that let them all get double scoops in waffle cones.
