An assortment of pics

I recently became an assistant organizer for my moms' group. I mainly signed on because all the events were in the morning and Leo isn't a morning person, so I added afternoon gatherings to the calendar. My first meeting was Friday. The weather was lousy so only a couple moms showed up. Here's Leo hanging with the other kids. I have another event coming up on Wednesday, but it is suppose to rain so I'll probably postpone it.
Here's Tom and Leo. Leo is sporting some "baby legs". They are the type of item I assume are a total gimmick, but turn out to be quite clever (and cute).

I think I look a little scary here but we were having fun.

I begin teaching again a week from tomorrow. I'm pretty much freaking out about it. We found a really sweet babysitter who is coming tomorrow for a few hours. I say it is to get Leo use to her, but really it is so my inevitable meltdown about leaving my baby doesn't coincide with my first day of class.

Starting Solids

Tom has been itching to start Leo on solids. I've been resisting because, well, breastfeeding is a lot easier and less messy. Plus, then I'd have to admit my little baby is growing up. Leo has been showing some signs he's ready but not all of them. We decided to try a little rice cereal yesterday and Leo did really well with it.

Here are a few pictures. We also got it on video, but we don't have the conversion software to load video yet.

New York Visit

We had a great visit to New York. Leo did awesome on the red eye, but Tom and I suffered a bit from the lack of sleep. The return trip was good but long. The headwinds work against us and when we got to the long term parking lot, the car battery was dead. We eventually made it home safe and sound, but pretty late at night. This is what Leo looked liked when we arrived, but we all felt that way.

We took a lot of pictures in New York so I created a couple of slide shows. The first one is all the pics with family. Everyone was so excited to meet Leo and he was his usual charming self.

This set is from our visit to Manhattan. We took the train to Penn station and then walked to Central Park. Stroller pushing through Times Square should be some sort of olympic event.

The Big Apple

We're headed to New York tonight on the red eye. (Yes, we're taking an infant on an overnight flight. We're that kind of crazy.) We'll be there through Wednesday and I promise to take lots of pictures of Leo with his New York family.

These two will have to tide you over until our return.

No fava beans though

Last night Skip stayed with us. He was in town on business, but I didn't get any pictures of him with Leo. He and Tom did share a bottle of wine

And a bonus shot of Leo chewing on his favorite cow toy.

Five Months Old

I can't believe my little baby is five months old. I fall more and more in love with him everyday. Here's some pictures from our visit to the park today. But a first, a quick look back at his first day on earth.

High chair

Leo is growing up so fast.. He's not quite ready for solids yet, but it is just around the corner. His nana and Skip got him a high chair in preparation for the new adventures in eating. Even though he's getting to be a big boy, he looks like a wee little thing in the high chair. Check it out.

And bonus adorable post-bath shot.

Bath time

Here are a few shots from Leo's bath tonight.
Tom tried to get a cute shot of Leo in his robe. He decided to pee instead.
This is my cat (Bug) drinking the leftover bath water. Gross, I know.
And a bonus shot of him cracking up in the Jumperoo.
