Fremont Older Hike

There were errands to run and chores to do, but the gorgeous weather made us put all of it on hold so we could get out for a little family hike. We went to an open space preserve that is a quick drive from our house that was recommended by our neighbor. It turned out to be a beautiful location.

Runway

Leo has been riding his balance bike more and more. The last couple days he's become brave about cruising down our driveway, which he calls a "runway". Today he even tried out some of the other driveways on our street. It makes me nervous every time he does it but I guess it's my extreme aversion to visiting the urgent care again. He has a blast.

Egg-tastic Dye Job

Some one is egg-cited about dying eggs. Okay, I'll stop doing that now.

Serafina enjoyed it too, but her dying had to be closely supervised.

New park

As part of the co-op preschool, I have to work community hours. Today I was part of the early crew for the annual yard sale. I got there at 7am to help set-up the oodles and oodles of stuff that was donated by the preschool families. There was a number of items from us and it was a little strange to see them being purchased by various people. I learned this morning that yard sale-ing is serious business. We weren't official "open" until 8am and there was a group of people who milled around waiting for almost an hour until they could dive in. Another woman tried to take a rain jacket I got for Serafina out of my bag, while the bag was on my arm! Wacky stuff. The yard sale brings in good money for the school; enough money that we don't have to shill candy bars or popcorn or any other fundraisers. I also donated some Sugar Donut Muffins to the bake sale portion of the sale. They were as good as they sound. Tom was super dad while I was at the sale and dealt with the morning routine (except for the breastfeeding, which I took care of once I was home).

We headed to a new park and the Mirrione children conquered the bridge.

"Can I squeeze through here?"

Leo is all about sticks right now. My friend's kid went through this and had a forest's worth of sticks in the trunk of her car because her daughter wanted to take them home. Luckily, Leo isn't that attached and they remain at the park once we leave.
After dinner, Tom set up his backpacking tent in the living room and despite a slightly funky smell, the kids loved it.

Spring Party

Today was the Spring Party at Leo's school. I wasn't scheduled to work, but I went to take pictures. The deadline for the yearbook is quickly approaching and I'm woefully short on pictures. The parents are suppose to upload their pictures by tomorrow, but it's not looking good, so I'm taking matters into my own hands. Serafina was a good sport and stayed in the carrier the whole time.

They all dyed eggs but their names were written on them, so during the hunt, they had to find their specific eggs. It went about as well as expected.

Egg Hunt 2011

We had our 3rd annual Easter Egg Hunt with my moms group. The past two years we were part of the larger group. Even though it was four families participating, the moms provided a plethora of eggs and the kids loved it.

Serafina might not talk much and she may be a little accident prone, but she's got some mad fine motor skills. She was able unwrap (and consume) three foil-wrapped chocolate eggs. She was already chomping down on the first one before I even realized she had it.
