Yo Gabba Gabba!

I think I've made clear our love for the TV show, Yo Gabba Gabba. Tonight we got to see them live in San Francisco. The tickets were purchased back in May and they were worth every penny. We had a wonderful time. There was a big rainstorm and momentary panic about our tickets not being available at will call and terrible traffic on the way home, but none of it mattered. The look on Leo's face when his favorite characters hit the stage was awesome.

I've spent the last few weeks making these shirts for the show. A labor of love, for sure, but I enjoyed it. Here's all our gear laid out earlier in the day.
Brobee! The little green one.
Foofa! She's pink and happy.
Muno! He's tall and friendly.
Plex! A magic robot.

At the show. We had pretty great seats. Big thanks to daddy and his credit card!
The show begins.
Leo was so entranced by the show.

Serafina was a little scared. It wasn't as bad as I thought it could be since she's become very noise sensitive and fearful recently. She clung to me with all her might for the first 20 minutes with her eyes locked on the stage, but she eventually loosened up and I think she enjoyed it.
Trying on some DJ Lance Rock glasses.
Playing with his light-up wand with the other kids.
Watching the show.
A little dancing.
You can't beat dancing chicken, cheese and veggies. So yummy, indeed.

Feast Day

Today was the first of two feast days at Leo's preschool. It was my turn to work, so I got to be there for all the fun. Leo and his classmates were the pilgrims and hosted the feast in their classroom. The other morning class were the visiting Native Americans. On Tuesday, they will do it again with the classes switching roles.

Here's Leo leading his Native American guest to the feast table.

Everyone gathers around for the food.
Look at all those little pilgrims and Native Americans. So cute, but so exhausting.

Talking

"Mmmm, pears."

When she's not stuffing her face, she's actually saying a few "words". She's been saying Mommy for a little while and doing a few signs. She no longer signs more, but instead just points and grunts or says "mo". She will sign please when she prompted. She also consistently signs down and all done. She says "ba" for ball and "bo" for book. When she wants something handed to her, she points and screeches, "me me me me". Her brother never stops talking, so it's not easy to get a word in. On the way home from school, he was prattling on in the stroller. When I asked, "what did you say, honey?" he told me, "I'm just talking to myself."

Both kids were feverish tonight and Leo has a barking cough. I'm hoping they both have a good night sleep and are doing better in the morning. I fear we have entered the winter sick months.

Uncle Mike

We just had a great visit with Tom's brother, Mike. Uncle Mike did a lot of playing, washed a lot of dishes, cooked a lot of yummy food and was woken up by Leo every morning earlier than he would have preferred. I think he had a good time, but he probably needs a vacation after this vacation.

Working the swings with Serafina.
Working the stove on Baked Ziti night.
We rewarded his hard work with a trip to the beach. I left my camera battery at home so these were taken with Tom's phone. We visited the same beach we went to back in August.

Trying to take a picture with Serafina never really works out.
Leo is a little better.

Here's a nice moment before Mike left today.

Ant park

We headed to a fun park today. It was a little cold, but I bundled up my kids and myself like we were scaling the Alps. I also came prepared with a plastic bag, a rubber band and a tube sock for Serafina's cast so she could be allowed to roam and enjoy a little freedom.

She was thrilled.

Leo had fun too.

Hat hair.
The outing put her in a good mood.
She wasn't too pleased this evening when we vacuum and filled the air mattress in preparation for Uncle Mike's arrival. She's really noise sensitive right now.

Mike has arrived safely and we look forward to spending some quality time.
