Serafina turns six!

It was all about Serafina's birthday around here today.  She told me last night that she wanted to wake up to a present next to her bed.  I went ahead and obliged.

She opened up these glittery flip flops and was very pleased.  She also told me that she didn't feel any different than when she was five.

Then it was off to school.
When her friend Sonja saw her this morning and said "hi Serafina", Serafina responsed "don't you mean 'happy birthday, Serafina'".
Leo kept his jealously over birthday attention and presents in check all day.
Before class started, she climbed to the top of the play structure and announced it was her birthday.  The other kids ignored her.

Her teacher made her feel special with this birthday crown.
At the end of class, she got called up to the front.  Oh boy does she love being in the front of the room and having all the attention on her.

The kids sang to her.

Then she got to choose between birthday hugs and birthday spanks.  She chose hugs.
The FedEx guy brought a present from Nana to the apartment which was very exciting.
It was a purse shaped like a dog.  She named it Lily and brought it with her while Leo swam pre-comp.

Then it was off to a birthday dinner.  She told the parking valet it was her birthday.  She told everybody it was her birthday.

Daddy had an early meeting so dinner was the first time he got to hang out with the birthday girl.
There will be a party on Friday with cake so tonight we just had a little ice cream at home.
Serafina soaked up every minute of her special day.  After school she flung her socks on the floor.  When I told her to put them in the hamper, she said "you do it, mom.  It's my birthday."  I told her good try kid, it doesn't work that way.

Serafina is one spunky, spirited kid.  She exhausts me and fascinates me at the same time.  She loves attention and dancing and her friends.  She hugs all the girls in her class and tries to hug her brother but he usually doesn't like it.

Here's a little flashback on her birthday.

And of course the daily remodel picture.
