Reading medal and a field trip

Serafina won the reading medal this month for reading the most pages in her class.  Listening to the first Harry Potter book during our big road trip really helped up her page count.  She earned a medal through the same San Jose Sharks reading program two years ago.

She was very proud of herself and I'm proud of her too.
This morning the third graders in Leo's class walked to the middle school for a field trip about the Ohlone Indians.  I didn't attend but another parent sent me this picture.

The teacher told me later that she's so glad that kids like Leo exist since he was very engaged - asking and answering questions - while other kids were not as interested.  Leo told me that the man running the field trip reminded him of his Ito (my dad).  That made me smile.
