Tball Trophy

The closing ceremonies for Little League were held today.  I went out to the field to help set up at 9:30am and it was already pretty hot.  I knew it wasn't going to be much fun to be out there, but Leo wanted to get his trophy and he deserved it.

We were running late, but they bring the tballers out last, just like for opening ceremonies.  We're going to need to become more prompt as he gets older and moves up the divisions.
Tball players were last in the parade and the Red Sox were the last team and Leo was the last player.  You can see in the video he's anxious to get the trophy.  You also may notice his teammate Cole has his head bandaged up.  He had surgery to have his ears pinned back a few days ago.  I told him he needed to come up with a better story when people ask, like he was in a zombie fight.

The ceremonies weren't too long, though with the heat, it felt like we were out there a long time.  There were lots of awards to announce and All-Star teams to acknowledge.

One final team cheer.
Go Red Sox!
Happy trophy boy.

We got in the pool very shortly after returning from the park.  After dinner it had cooled down enough to ride bikes.  Leo wanted to try out his new bike helmet.
Serafina really wants to ride the pink "big girl" bike she was given as a hand-me-down.  We've told her she needs to get good on the balance bike first.  She doesn't really like the balance bike, but tonight she did better than usual on it.  Unfortunately, she's so tall that the bike is a little small for her even with the seat all the way up.
