Annual Halloween Party

Today we met up with our friends for our Annual Halloween Party, except this year it was much less party and more just gathering the kids for a picture. There was no food or box juices. We even decided to skip all candy or treats since the kids will get plenty of junk later this week.

My kids were excited about it anyway and begged to put their costumes on hours before the party.  Leo's costume needed some splatters of fake blood.  We made a batch with corn syrup and food coloring.  He had a lot of fun making and spreading it.
The bloody clothes plus some make up create a pretty good zombie.  Leo has been unwavering about his desire to be a zombie for Halloween.  He was really happy with the results.

Unsurprisingly, he can't wear this costume to school, so he'll be wearing a hand-me-down Darth Vader outfit for the school parade.

Now for a little sweetness.  Here's my little Dorothy Gale from Kansas.

She even had a little Toto in her basket.
And ruby slippers, of course.

Scary and sweet together.

Then we headed to the park to see our friends.
From left to right: Katie, Serafina, Maya, Max, Leo, Doug and Sophia.

They ran around a little bit while we waited for Cara and her girls to show up.
Now it's Serafina, Addison, Riley, Katie, Sophia, Doug, Maya, Max, Elisa and Leo.
There goes Max.

We stayed for a little playing.
I had Serafina change out of her dress and she showed me in person how well she's doing on her big girl bike.
